Be careful with frozen food

1Currently, freezing has become one of the most used methods for preserving food. Therefore, the food industry is always incorporating new features, providing consumers with different frozen food options.

The largest groups of commercially frozen foods are: Fruits (whole, purees, concentrated juices or fruit pulps), vegetables, fish fillets and seafood, meats (fresh or processed), meat products (sausages, hamburgers, steaks) , baked products (bread, cake and pies) and prepared foods (pizzas, desserts, ice cream, complete meals and frozen ready meals).1

The disadvantages are that many frozen processed foods have high levels of sodium, preservatives, colorings, saturated lipids and simple carbohydrates in their composition, which is highly harmful to health, as excess of them can lead to chronic non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, among other diseases.

Pay attention to the labels, there you will find valuable information about the product that will make a big difference to your health.

Give preference to fresh foods.
