According to the WHO (World Health Organization), the ideal air humidity is 60%, but currently in some Brazilian cities it has only reached 8%, which is considered a desert climate.
With low humidity, respiratory diseases and dry skin and hair appear.
To deal with problems with low humidity, we will give you some tips below:
- Drink plenty of fluids, never wait until you feel thirsty, as this indicates that you are already dehydrated. The ideal is to consume it every 20 minutes;
- Avoid large amounts of milk and dairy products because they help with the formation of mucus and consequently respiratory problems;
- Use moisturizing creams to prevent skin dryness and cracking;
- Avoid hot and long baths, prefer liquid or glycerin soaps;
- Keep the environments clean, as by avoiding the accumulation of dust, we will avoid allergic problems;
- Long periods in contact with air conditioning reduce air humidity;
- Avoid closed and crowded environments, as they make breathing difficult and end up causing respiratory problems;
- In the room, hang damp towels or place basins with water. This will increase the humidity, and you will have a more restful night's sleep;
- During the day, wash your eyes and nose with saline solution. This helps to reduce the sensation of dryness and the accumulation of mucus;
- When practicing physical activity, wear light clothing, wear a hat, sunscreen and avoid doing it between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.
